Companies hiring foreign workers without the proper work permit and visa may also face closure upon recommendation of the high-level inter-agency government committee. Both DOLE and BI emphasized its regulatory powers to continue with this campaign of legalizing the stay of any foreign national that wish to stay in the Philippines.
As a final note, any foreign national who earns income within the Philippines whether via local payroll or from outside source(s) are required to secure the necessary work permit or work visa or both. The duration of employment or assignment, function, nature of employment or assignment in the Philippines are some criteria used to determine the validity and type of work permit or work visa that may be applied for.
